Down by the Berry Patch

While they were in high school, Judy and Rita Liberack earned college money by running a fourteen acre raspberry patch; a job that involved learning many life skills. It is from this experience that the title of the collection of stories has been taken.

A portion of the berry patch was donated to St. Joseph Parish so that Unionville, Michigan would be able to have a Catholic cemetery. Judy and Rita inherited the rest of the berry patch when their mother died. Although navy beans are currently being grown where the raspberry bushes once grew, the berry patch remains in the family.

Down by the Berry Patch is a collection of stories written by Judy and Rita reflecting on their lives and the lives of their families.
